Galatians 2:20 NIV
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
The writing that I share today was written in a Grateful Journal that I started on January 1, 2022. Though I am embarrassed by the way I dealt with the situation that I was facing at the moment, I thought it was important to share. It is a sobering reminder that though we are born again Christians through Christ, at the core of our beings, we are HUMANS. HUMANS who daily make mistakes and have to petition our Heavenly Father for His forgiveness. HUMANS who are new creatures in Christ, but sometimes fall short and defer back to the old things and ways that we have left behind. The good news is that God sent His son, Jesus Christ, here on Earth to save a sinner like you and me. We were not deserving of His grace and mercy, yet He went up on the cross, so that we might live eternally.
If you're like me, you may also fall short, occasionally. Though we definitely don't want to fall back into the life of a sinner, we have to show ourselves some grace. We will have bad days! We will do and say things sometimes that clearly do not lift up the name of Jesus. But, at the end of it all, we have to know it's okay to approach the heavenly father with sincerity, asking Him for forgiveness and BELIEVING that He will forgive us for our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. May God speak to your heart today and help you to forgive others, but also to forgive yourself. Because after all is said and done, WE ARE ONLY HUMAN!

Today I am GRATEFUL that God forgives us of our sins and gives us the chance to get today's wrongs right tomorrow.
Earlier tonight, my son screamed out "F... You!"
In turn, I yelled back, "What the F... is your problem?"
This led to a verbal altercation between us, which lasted for about 30-45 minutes. Eventually, he apologized for his actions, and I apologized for mine; but, I still felt empty and guilty inside. Empty because I knew that as a Christian I had responded badly and had not exercised self control. Guilty because I knew that if I asked God for forgiveness that he would forgive me, but would I forgive myself?
My prayer to God that night:
God, please forgive me, and I thank you in advance for the opportunity to get this thing called life right tomorrow!
2nd Corinthians 5: 16-17 NIV
16. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!
